The trip to understand AIESEC 1

Last weekend I skipped 5 classes ( Fri: Current Economy & Politics Of the World, Chinese Journalism history; Sat: French & Olympic Training; Sun: Military) to join the Introduction Conference of AIESEC, using my eyes to observe, my heart to feel and my body to dance for the large International students’ community, which was established in 1948.

At first please allow me to introduce this organization’s brief facts. Its whole title is “Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales”, a French title. Its main business is establishing internships between countries. Usually, an AIESEC organization has five departments, ICX, OGX, Finance, ER & PD. The core departments are ICX and OGX..

The function of Finance is unnecessary to introduce. ER means External Relationship, looking for sponsors and building good relationship with universities, widening the influence of AIESEC. PD is People Development, raising & training members & Sns, students from AIESEC around the world, .

ICX means Incoming Exchange. The members in this department are response to look for the local Tns, which stands for the enterprises or NGOs (Non-government Organizations) cooperating with AIESEC, receiving Sns.

OGX means Outgoing Exchange, helping local Sns to match the enterprises or NGOs abroad. So we can summarize the working process of AIESEC: Local Sns—Local OGX—ICX abroad—Tns abroad, supported by PD, Finance & ER.

And AIESEC consists of 3-level committee. LC (Local Committee) is the basic committee. In China, only in Beijing &Shanghai some universities have their own LC, say, PKU, THU, UIBE, and, fortunately, RUC. Wuhan, Sichuan, Dalian, Tianjin &Guangzhou have only one LC for their short history and few members. Then these LCs are managed by one MC, (member Committee), standing for a nation or a district, avoiding political argument between mainland and Taiwan. Of course, in Rotterdam is there IC(International Committee). But one thing should be noticed: the presidents & vice-presidents in a MC may not come from the nation which the MC AIESEC is in, for example, 2006~2007 MC China Mainland has 8 core leaders, but only 3 from China. The others are from Brazil, Britain, Costa Rica, Australia.

    No time left!!

I'd been disappeared on Internet, also in RUC for serveral days. For I took part in AIESEC introduction conference in the suburb of Beijing, Yanqing, which is famous for its BADALING Great Wall. Exausted, I got a lot of information that I never knew before. I wish in this week time allows me to write it down on the space. It is really worth sharing. But I may be busily catching up with the class and a interview of the YUC, and of course, new tasks in AIESEC.
And I have not study French for a long time!!!!!
