8/22/2007 another little poemAs soon as your figure conjured up in my mind,
I found a flash across the dark sky,
The scenery turned splendid in my sight,
as blossoming a sweet smile by my side,
leaving an eternal mark in my life.
8/18/2007 Principles1. Keep your mind free
Never copy any absolute views from others. Use your own judgement. Sometimes the kids will tell you the truth but the authority will tell lies. Gather information and suggestion from others and use your eyes to see, your ears to hear and your heart to feel.
2. Be rational
The biggest gap between human beings and other animals is the way of thinking. Human is able to deduce and conclude from what they feel, but animals are just conducted by their sense. Try to keep calm when trapped in troubles, confronted rumors, or facing difficult alternatives. Avoid the harms whatever joys they will give you. Be wise to choose the best way.
3. Believe in love
Be sentimental occasionally, for rational mind can't solve all problems, extinguish all pains in the world. Keep morality and charity in your heart, which will make your soul rich. Show mercy to the creatures and the Nature in this world. Dare to love, to hate , to forgive and to forget.
4. Try to keep win-win situation as well as possible
Never hurt the others' interests, if you can go on your life without doing so. Be kind to whoever you are acquainted with. Get along with their good characteristics. Yet do not forget to defense when they are attacking you with unfriendly temptations. Be ready to sacrifice your own interests to who you love.
5. Keep humble
Keep chasing for the knowledge that you don't know, like a curious child for ever. Be aware of the limitation of yourself, your limited life and limited sight, which will prevent you from being the God. Keep your respect to the Nature, to the people, from a peasant to a president. Don't mock at the ones who seem to be weaker than you, for everyone has their own value that you can never get.
6. Tolerate the diversity
Understand the different pursues of the others, and respect their choice as they respect yours, if only they are not harmful. Learn to yield to the rapid changes of this world, accept the new value of the new things.
7. Keep changing your mind
Be aware of one simple common sense of life, naemly, the only one thing that never change in the world, is changing itself. Don't refuse to refresh your ideas at times.
8. Don't depend on justice, but hold
Some values, like justice and fairness, may be the eternal pursues for human being. We, however, should not give up the fundamental principles of life.
Finally finish this article on my grandpa's computer, whose keyboard covered with dust. Maybe some days later I will correct some faults in it, if I can find any. 7/19/2007 The failure of Chinese Football Team: a tragedy made by bureaucratic institutionChina lost again, in Asian Cup, when we assembled the best players to this competition, neglected by Korean & Japanese, whose core players are still enjoying their holidays. The difference is that they have got into the next round with palm-reversing ease, but China is eliminated by Uzbekistan, constantly picking up the ball from the goal for 3 times. Compared with the other teams in this Cup, China had an clear appetite to enter semi-final round, which was concerned by the CFA(Chinese Football Association) and the coach Zhu Guanghu. They took a long way to prepare for this. Sadly the result is humiliating, for the Iraq team, suffering from continuous war and lacking of systematic training, defeated powerful Australian and gets into the next round, with the first rank of group A. Chinese football fans have got used to sighing again and again when they see the failure of football team. For more than 10 years since Chinese Career League began, but the status of Chinese football is even lowing, not only the Men football team but the Women team as well. During this time our competitors have made a remarkable progress, so lacking of outstanding players and basis is no longer an excuse. It is apparent that only one cause ceases Chinese football’s development, the bureaucratic management of Chinese Football Association. The responsible officials in CFA are just politicians, who tend to focus on the recent achievement of Chinese football and neglect the future of Chinese football. At first Yan Shiduo disassembled the League for preparing the World Cup, which did seriously harm to Chinese players and the whole football environment. However, the victory in 2001 trivialized the problem when Yan won flowers and applauses, ultimately bringing disaster to Chinese football. In 2004 he reformed the league as he promised, but it was just a new brand with old nature. He had no courage to run the total market-driven football league, which was beyond enough conditions indeed. It proves that he just gave an empty promise to the public when he announced to “reform”. When he was transferred for Chinese team failed to go to the 2006 World Cup, his successor, Xie Yalong, have succeeded Yan’s bureaucratic style but done nothing positively to improve. The working way of CFA exerted a fatal influence to the football team, as they control the ultimate authority of decision in Chinese football affairs. Through that way the best coach will not be invited to teach the team but the tractable one would. So would the football players. Chinese football team, in a word, is not running for the purpose that how to make our quality stronger, but how to satisfy the officials and their expectations. The vital thing of Chinese football is the willing of the “leaders”, and only under their permission can the coaches and players do what they want and play as they want. The leaders, however, are not professional football experts, but professional traditional Chinese bureaucrats. So the failure of Chinese football is not the failure for the football, but a humiliation of Chinese bureaucracy. In the future, this defect will assail the whole Chinese sports system except when the institution is changed. 7/12/2007 Stalingrad-1943On the Christmas day of 1942, Nazi sent the last wish to the German troops in Stalingrad. The misery was still hidden from the relations of the 6th group army, though they had already felt pessimistic. German soldiers began to experience starving. The officials required their staffs to rob the Russian residents. There were about 10,000 citizens remained in the city, most of which were children & the aged. The survivors came up with that unforgettable period nowadays, described Germans as “some handsome polite men just like our people” at the beginning, with chocolates and toys to the Russian children. They were even casual with children playing their guns. But from the end of 1942, German gentlemen became robbers. The lack of clothes and food drove them broke into residents’ wooden houses. Still, Russians found that the two hostile nations possessed some same values. Love is the origin of human nature, no matter what hostility two ideologies holds. At the bitterly cold night in the January, German robbers were missing their families as the Russians did, which shocked the residents so well. But the hunger and desperation wore Germans’ human nature away. Every day each soldier could only get 50g bread, and they began to eat dead horse, even dead men. 40,000 injured soldiers lying in the basement of the huge industrial city, without any care, only waiting for death. The only way to escape, the road to the Stalingrad airport, was stacked with German bodies after the Red Army bombed the airport, destroying 70 aircrafts, making the air supply nearly impossible. On the January 8th, 1943, Soviet asked German’s commander, Paulus, to give in. Paulus sent this request to Berlin at once but was refused by his leader, who was willing to send 200,000 soldiers to hell rather than accepted failure to his rival Staling. Two days later Soviet decided to tighten their surrounding. T34 tanks, roaring down into the city, crushed as many Germans as they could. At 14th January, another messenger was sent to Berlin to beg Hitler to give up his stubborn. The messenger saw the light of hope at first for his leader paid unprecedented patient, listening to his description quietly for 3 hours, but it turned out to be a waste of time. Until 26th, January, when Paulus sent his surrender request to Hitler again, the hysteria man still clang to his craziness, commanded his elite groups to fight until the last soldier died. The battle proved a signal for failure to the devil. Not only had Hitler sent his outstanding boys to the hell, with only 6,000 men surviving back from the Soviet, but he lost one of his most powerful army. This is all because his abnormal thought to the victory, & his greedy to the world. On the 31st January, Friedrich Paulus decided to surrender to the Soviet. 7/11/2007 Stalinggrad~~Spent me half a night to write!!Nazi & Soviet, two states of absolutism, held the well-known battle in Stalingrad from the summer of 1942 to the early 1943, sacrificing millions of lives, leveling the heavy industrial city mostly, as well as the 6th group army of Nazi Germany, Hitler’s one of the elite troops. German army, with swift tanks and powerful air force, had ever taken possession the most areas of the city, but the patriotism and the loyalty to communism supported the Red Army remaining inexorable. The battle left a gridlock when Germans reached 150m away from the Volga River. Soviet soldiers and workers hid in every corner of Stalingrad, giving Germans agnostic deaths. When the horrible winter descended, German mechanic weapons turned dysfunctional again as they did in Moscow. The equilibrium of two forces was being broken. Commander Zhukov ordered Soviet army groups to cut off the channel of Germans’ supply, in order to accomplish the surrounding. Then 300, 000 Germans were suffering the formidable cold weather and the isolation of the supply troops. The atmosphere of distemper, as well as the woe of desperation, spread around the army, and the tenor of victory was towards Russians. Once upon Hitler sent another 3 armored divisions to Stalingrad, tended to rescue his elites. But he disappointed his soldiers again when they were ready to leave, even burning up their supplies for the escaping. The over-confident Austrian commanded his fellows remaining in the city, which meant their miserable ruin by Soviet Red Army in the early 1943. The Stalingrad battle was unprecedented in World War2, ruined the 3rd Empire’s ambition and strengthened the state of Soviet. It was one of the triumphs of alliance, the same as the landing on Normandy, 1944. The battle showed disparity between 2 despotisms. Despite their bravery and strong fighting spirits, which are nearly the same from the ideological control, Russians evidently possessed the advantage of their acquaintance for their hometown. And their powerful war industry was able to gather their resources successfully due to the institution of Soviet socialism. Endless tanks, aircrafts, and qualified soldiers, were kept sending to the battlefield. Losing the supply of their rear army, Germans were digging the grave for themselves when they remained in the city, consuming their bullets and energy day by day. 6/30/2007 Happiness~~Today I'd like to talk about happiness, a topic in the oral English exam last week.
And I'd like to talk about suffering at first, for if you don't know what is suffering, you will never get the point of happiness.
I have ever heard a saying, probably from Tibetan, " Happiness is tasting the honey on blade", which means you can only get real happiness when risking something, or suffering something.
Maybe it is true.
Life is a perpetual struggle in my opinion, without anyways to escape from. We are thought to be a "happy" generation in China, avoiding wars and stupid things just like the "Da Yue Jin" and Cultral Revolution, benifiting from the improvement of economy, having forgotten, or never tasting even, the sense of starving and poverty. But we are still gloomy, and confused.
Most of us, have lost a chance to have a brother or sister, only can get the understanding from friends and collegues of our same generation. We are prisoned in schools to prepare countless exams for our future, far away from the reality, and still need to harvesting fierce compititions when we graduate, for no enough resource for us to survive. And we go far away from the nature, which is spoiled by industrial invation, pollution & urbanizition. And a feeling of poverty, another kind of poverty have come into my mind, the poverty of spirit, which reflects my pale and poor soul. We are chasing for the material enjoyment, forgetting to stop our fast pace, hold up our head and watch the stars in the space.
Every era has its own unhappiness. And we have to confront our own one. What's more, we need to looking for fun in it.
6/7/2007 NCEE Anniversary!!Today, a new crowd of students are sent to the battlefield of their life! Another National College Entrance Examination begins, which is the first time I observe it above. I am not sure it is a turning point of my life. But the exam really threw me 2000 kms away to Beijing. Well, for it loaded my dream and my future, this day is memorable.
And I do thanks the ones who are sticking with me when I fought at that dark period. My parents, family, and friends...Mood mushroom, who likes to flirt with me and touch my neck and head, pig head Xixi, who is always dreaming to marry as soon as possible, Xiao Ma, who always needed me to play mp3 songs to release his gloomy emotion, and Da Lao & Jingpei, keeping fighting to give 8504 a lot of fun, Old three & Hippo, who are so lovely and like two pets of mine. In addition, Xiao Ming, Yu MIng, Ou Dan, Shi ye, Web Jun... So many people to thank.
Well, though I left u all, I still miss u all. Giving me unforgettable fun when I'm in struggle with my future, you are my most valuable memory of high school life, making me smile naturally when I come up with your faces. And just let the fXXking exams went away & receded in my life. Let's celebrate the new life we've got.
We are aparted now. But we are all from one origin. Stick to that lovely place and lovely memory, think about our unified band when you feel lost. That's why we're here, at present, going forward for a new challenge, for seeking our new dream.
Just to you all, my friends. 2/28/2007 Response to ZoyiFor love, maybe what we are seeking are feelings of thrill and satisfaction. But we can't deny love is a part of our life, a part of our spirit. I'm reading a philosophic book rencently and the author claims that human possesses three original parts of spirits, that is, the desire for knowledge, the belief, and love. It may comes to a disaster that we have only the desire for knowledge left as the western civilization develops. Because of the science theories invading every areas of human's life, the buildings of belief and of love collapsed. More and more people have given up their belief in god, and perhaps some of them have also given up their belief in love. The terrible result is that human will become cruel and cold, seeking for new stuffs to fill their endless appetites. As Agent Smith in 'Matrix' says, at that time human is no longer mammal but virus, overspreading their desire and extinguishing everything else.
I mumble a lot up there because I figure we should not forget the existence of love, or it will be dangerous. As a matter of fact, human is doing such stupid things to wipe out everything on Earth, including their future. And no obvious signs show that we have a strong sense to have a brake right now. So we need love and belief to guide us. The love is not only for opposite sex, but for our nature, for people across the Pacific and the Atlantic, for the future of our children. Science is powerful for us to face the crises around us, but not for the dark side deep in our mind, in humanity. And it is usually the dark side in humanity that conducts us towards the extinguishment.
So I agree that we should learn to love and be loved. We have rights to refuse to believe in god, but we ought to believe in love. And of course we should take our responsibilities of love. Anyway, love is not only about joy. Sometimes we even get more pain and misfortune from it. But we must still keep it in mind no matter how horrible it is. You may treat it as our destiny, but I'd rather regard it as a kind of gift.
I believe the correct attitude of love can help us to defeat our weakness and evils, leading us to a better way to go ahead. Love is what we seek, we suffer, and we enjoy. Love is the weapon to wipe out all discrimination and animosity among human beings. Love is the only way to help us to check our mind thoroughly and seriously, the only way to control our unpredictable desire.
Well, It seems that I am becoming a priest. I overestimate and even misunderstand your saying, Zoyi. Perhaps the love for opposite sex has a schedule, but Love is such a thing that we need to value from our birth to death.
Thanks for your saying, giving me inspiration for these. Actually love is a kind of feeling. When you have love in your heart, you will never walk alone, never.
For you're carrying the priceless treasure of human beings. 2/23/2007 The love in long distanceToday Sunny focused his topic on love. And one of the discussion, "Do you believe long-distance love", exerted our interests. It reminded me of a famous poem, which I had ever used in my article and letter, written by Tagore.
The furthest distance in the world
The furthest in the world
The furthest distance in the world
The furthest distance in the world
And till today I suddenly came up with two of my friends around, who are both girls, had this experience before. However they didn't have forever endings. It shows that love can't defeat the reality. Their feelings would be weakened by the distance.
What a sad truth it is! Maybe only for the romanticists like Tagore will believe the power of love. Obviously, girls sometimes are romanticists too. That's why "The Knot", a Chinese movie using love story to reflect the current politics, has earned countless tears from girls. If a girl watches that moive but don't cry, she is not a girl anymore. She will be as mature as a woman, because she will never believe love can beat the time.
What is love? I figure love must base on agreements and compromises, and give people strenth to go ahead in their life. Life is full of lonlyness and sadness, we need someone to share, to get comfort and support. Maybe happiness is easy to share to your ordinary friends and parents. But for sadness and scare, Love is the best medicine. So I don't think the distance of love is determined by the distance of geography. It is determined by the distance of two hearts. I believe couples who fit each other so much are still hard to break up, for neither of them can find another person that is so close to their hearts again.
But it is a pity that we can hardly find such suitable one in the world, in our limited life.So we should learn to tolerate, and compromise.
Sunny introduced five conditions that Long-D love should have, independence, mature, tolerance, honest and faith. I really agree with these five points. We should make sense of a fact that love is not only for happiness, but also bring you continous pain.
Nevertheless, I still like the poem up there.
And I wish everyone can find their destined lover, just for a late wish for Valentine's Day. 2/16/2007 Determination,or Destiny? These two days my oral English's teacher, is a CBC from Quebec. He is called Sunny, just as my high school English teacher, although he is a lean man instead of a fat lady. (sweating...) As he said, he's a 7-11, talking all the time. Today he started with a hot topic, dieting. But then his way went towards determination. So he told us a story about the hockey star, Saku Kiovu.
Saku is a player from Finland. Like Lance Armstrong, he was diagnosed for a desperate disease when he was at the top of his career, after he just got engaged with his gf. His disease is called non-hodgkin lymphoma, a kind of cancer. He had to receive chemotherapres to fight against the disease. It almost spoiled him. After a chemotherapre, he "locked himself in the bedroom without a wisp of light in, for every little movement or light will make him scream painfully". It took him 4 months to cure the disease, and 3 months to recover. As all the heroes the pain never depressed him. At last he returned hockey field, welcomed by audience's respect.
Sunny said it was determination that led him defeating the cancer. But I believed it was destinied. What if the treatment had had no effect? Maybe he would be a martyr, and left loads of sighs behind. But as long as a little hope there, we should not give up our struggle. Facing the storm in our life With a smile is a way to show our bravry to our fate. I still cling to that. 2/7/2007 The scene I want to last foreverToday is a really hot day, hot for the winter. I had few chances to wear T-shirt as I did today every year, just before the Spring Festival, though I had been in GZ, which is famous for her warmth.
In the English class today teacher showed a sentence, 'It was a beautiful morning, the kind you want to last forever'. It exerted my interests. I wanna look for the unforgettable scenes of myself.
The first scene I come up with is the night on the sea, my only night on the sea. That was an extremely cold day, and wind roared constantly. I felt dozens of swords cutting my face, but I don' care, 'cuz the dark blue sky was beautiful, full of stars as diamonds glinting towards me. Firstly I was moved by such a splendid nature view. How chickenshit I am! How chickenshit human is.
Maybe this is why I name this blog"Casablanca's space". Never figure that you have done something great enough. Just raise your head to see. You will find yourself a dust in this endless world. |
